Little Guns

Any gun on you is better than any gun you have sitting at home.

It is very common when we start the concealed carry or self defense journey they we are told that we HAVE TO carry a certain gun, caliber, or capacity. The more I work with people and concealed carry I am convinced this is more about ego inflation than objective self defense or preparedness.

“Must be a Glock, must be 9mm, and must be a Glock 19”

Please don’t misunderstand, if you want to daily carry a Glock 17, with a red dot, weapon mounted light, and spare magazine, then rock on.  However, I would much rather you have a J Frame in your pocket because you end up leaving the instagram gun at home because it sucks to carry or gets in the way.

“I can’t to that, I have my gun on”

One of the biggest issues I have come to a realization on, especially now that I have kids, your life should not revolve around the gun. Maybe a better way to put it, your life shouldn’t be limited by your gun. If you shy away from climbing the playground equipment, playing horsee, or rolling around with your children because your gun will show; that’s the wrong answer. Don’t be the bouncer standing on the sidelines on your life, “pulling security”. Live your life and enjoy your loved ones.

“YOU might be able to do that, but I will loose my job”

While I can pretty much carry any gun 99% of the time and maybe you can too; there are many folks that cannot. Many good folks live in places, cities, &/or states that are NOT 2A friendly. Moreover, they might be fired or face prosecution for carrying weapons. They are NOT going to be able to carry a Glock 19.

An instructor, I think it was Chuck Haggard, presented a challenge to “gun guys” Get a “regular” job at Target, Walmart, Lowes, ect. You will have to wear some type of uniform, often with a tucked in shirt, and be moving all day, reaching over your head, carry things, and to top it off you will be fired on the spot if they catch you carrying a weapon. It is much harder than you think.

50% of the United States lives in areas with many or strict infringements on the possession and carrying of weapons. Some jurisdiction have targeted their law abiding citizens when they spot the pocket knife clips protruding from their pockets.  I am thankful that I am not in that position, but I know many are.

Lets get to work

Our goal is to empower all law abiding citizens to take steps to protect themselves and loved ones. We train all different types of people and love being a part of your personal journey of sharpening your skills with your particular weapon of choice; big or small.
